renovations this summer. We are seeking dedicated individuals to fill the position of Summer Winery and
Farm Assistant. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a growing winery, contribute to the
transformation of our facilities, and play a crucial role in the success of our operations.
Job Description:
As a Summer Vineyard and Retail Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting various aspects of
our winery operations, including vineyard maintenance, retail activities, and the enhancement of our
facilities. This dynamic position offers a diverse range of responsibilities to provide you with a wellrounded
experience in the wine industry.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Vineyard and Farm Activities:
• Assist in vineyard tasks, including pruning, suckering, tying, and training vines, mowing.
• Participate in canopy management, irrigation, weeding and pest control activities.
• Operate and maintain farm equipment and tools under supervision.
• Adhere to sustainable farming practices and contribute to environmental conservation efforts
2. Winery Expansion and Renovations:
• Assist with basic construction tasks, such as carrying materials, setting up equipment,
assembling materials, landscaping and maintaining a safe work environment.
3. Cellar Support:
• Aid in the cellar during winemaking processes, including grape processing, fermentation,
cleaning and barrel maintenance.
• Assist in the installation and setup of new winery equipment.
• Follow safety guidelines and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
4. Event Support:
• Assist in setting up and breaking down events hosted at the winery during the summer season.
• Provide support during on-site events, including pouring wine and interacting with guests.
5. General Assistance:
• Collaborate with various departments to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
• Be willing to take on additional tasks as needed to support the overall success of the winery.
Qualifications:
• Previous experience in agriculture, vineyard work, or winery operations is a plus but not
required.
• Physical fitness and the ability to perform strenuous outdoor tasks in various weather
conditions.
• Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
• Willingness to work flexible hours and weekends, particularly during peak seasons.
• Ability to follow safety guidelines and protocols
• Must have up to date “Smart Serve” certificate prior to commencing employment.
Duration: This is a seasonal position for the summer, The start and end dates are flexible based on the
candidate’s availability.
