Vrban Family Farm is hiring workers for the summer season. We are a family-owned fruit farm located on John Street in Lincoln. We grow sweet cherries, peaches, apricots, plums and raspberries. Our fruit is premium quality, sold at local markets.

About the Job

Learn about operating a small fruit farm
Hands on learning and experience including
Spring preharvest activities – fruit tree pruning, frost mitigation, soil preparation, blossom & pollination, pesticide use & storage, thinning & other strategies for better fruit quality
Summer harvest activities – harvesting fruit, packing for various retail markets, quality control, proper cold storage, food safety, pesticide use & storage, irrigation & other strategies for managing weather & climate change
Food safety, regulatory & environmental considerations

Requirements

Full Time 35-45 hours per week
June 12 – September 1
Mon-Fri 8am-5pm, some Saturdays
Experience not required, we will teach you as we go
You must be reliable, hard working and willing to learn
Must be comfortable working on a ladder for pruning, thinning or harvesting
Must have reliable transportation to get to work on time

Compensation

$16.50 per hour base + up to $3 per hour earned bonus
