Description

The Town of Lincoln, located in the beautiful Niagara Region, offers a unique environment that encompasses Lake Ontario, the Bruce Trail and Niagara Escarpment and is situated between Hamilton and St. Catharines. Reporting to the Supervisor of Roads & Fleet, the Labourer is responsible for assisting with routine road and operations maintenance activities. Using a variety of hand and power tools, the tasks include flagging and traffic control, repairing and building roadways, sanitary sewers, storm draining, watermains, etc. 

Requirements

The successful candidate must possess the following:

  • Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent
  • A valid class “G” driver’s license (a DZ license would be considered an asset)
  • Experience operating hand and power tools
  • Ability to work outside in all types of weather.
  • Excellent communication and team skills
  • Experience in road construction or maintenance
  • Experience working with Asphalt and/or Concrete
  • Experience working in a Unionized Municipal setting

Hours and shifts may vary; the maximum hours for this position are 48 hours bi-weekly. The current wage is $23.20 / hour.
