JOB TITLE:  ​​Marketing Specialist

REPORTS TO:  

CLASSIFICATION:   Non-Exempt Hourly

SCHEDULE:

The job title and the reporting structure may change, at any time, and at the sole discretion of the employer.

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

Develop and execute marketing strategies, campaigns, and programs across various channels to drive brand awareness, customer engagement, and sales.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Strategy Development:
o Research market trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities 
o Assist in developing and implementing marketing plans and strategies 
Campaign Execution:
o Create and manage marketing campaigns across various channels (e.g., social media, email, digital advertising, content marketing) 
o Develop and implement content marketing strategies 
o Manage social media accounts and engage with online communities

 

Content Creation:
o Write and edit marketing materials, including website copy, email newsletters, social media posts, and blog articles
o Create visually appealing graphics and other marketing assets 
o Create and distribute content to support the launch of new products and events (both instore and remote) ensuring cohesive messaging across all social media platforms
Event Planning:
o Support the development of comprehensive event plans, including marketing initiatives, timelines, budgets, resources and deliverables
o Coordinate with vendors, venue management and internal stakeholders to manage logistics such as branding and other promotional materials
Performance Tracking and Analysis:
o Analyze and report on key performance indicators to measure the success of campaigns and events, providing actional insights for improvement
o Identify trends and insights to optimize future campaigns 
Collaboration:
o Collaborate with other departments, such as sales, merchandising and customer service, to align marketing and social media efforts with overall business goals 
o Collaborate with external vendors and agencies as needed 

QUALIFICATONS

Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or a related field is often preferred
A minimum of 1-3 years’ experience in marketing or a related field
Demonstrated understanding of marketing principles and practices
Demonstrated proficiency with marketing tools and software (e.g., social media management platforms, email marketing software, analytics tools)
Knowledge of digital marketing channels and strategies
Knowledge of content marketing strategies
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team 
Creative thinking and problem-solving skills 
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
Ability to adapt to changing priorities and situations
Excellent written and verbal communication skills 

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Retail sales store with the potential for temperature fluctuations
Opportunity to working remotely
Weekends
May be required to engage with dissatisfied customers

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Able to spend extended periods of time in front of a computer screen
Able to up to lift 25 lbs occasionally, with support of others
Able to walk and stand for extended periods of time
